Pastor Greg Alderman began his relationship with South Estatoe Baptist Church in 2024. After a time as an Interim Pastor, he became the full-time bi-vocational pastor at SEBC in 2025. In addition to serving the church, Pastor Greg is employed by Medi Home Hospice (Newland, NC) and ministers to many area people in our mountain communities. He is involved in serving patients, families, caregivers and Hospice staff in helping to provide terminally ill patients with pastoral care in accompanying them and their families through the end stages of life’s journey. Travelling and attending to patients and families in their homes, Assisted Living Facilities, and Skilled Nursing Facilities, Pastor Greg currently usually has between 35 and 45 patients and families to whom he ministers.
Pastor Greg graduated from Appalachian Bible College (B.A. & Th.B. in Theology, minoring in Pastoral Studies & Church Education) in 1984. He also obtained a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Trinity Theological Seminary in 2005. Most recently, Pastor Greg received a 15-month specialized training called Clinical Pastoral Education at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN in Healthcare Chaplaincy. This involved 500 classroom hours and over 2,000 hospital clinical hours in ministering to patients and families in crisis.Pastor Greg has been involved in pastoral ministry for over 40 years in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. He has led Mission trips both in the U.S. and foreign countries with teens and adults. He has spoken internationally and in the U.S. at Christian camps, conference centers, and conventions.
Pastor Greg married his wife, Drema, in 1984. He has two grown and married adult children as well as 4 grandchildren. Pastor Greg and Drema reside in Greenville, SC.
